The Stratford Festival has been setting the standard for classical theatre in North America for more than 60 years. Since the revolutionary first season, more than 26 million theatregoers from around the world have visited the Stratford Festival. Now partnering with SpectiCast, the acclaimed repertory theatre presents three exciting plays captured live in September 2015. Working with renowned Producer and Director Barry Avrich, and his exceptional team at Melbar Entertainment, the plays are captured using 10 cameras and 128 tracks of sound to create a sensational high-definition, surround-sound experience remaining faithful to the stage version of the production.
The Music Box Theatre presents a new unique screening series in collaboration with The National Society of Film Critics to celebrate the venerated group’s 50th Anniversary and its representatives based in Chicago. Participating members Michael Phillips (The Chicago Tribune) and J.R. Jones (Chicago Reader) and Jonathan Rosenbaum (formerly of Chicago Reader) will present three of their favorite Best Film winners from the Society’s long history over a three-week series, each screened on 35mm and followed by a post-film discussion.
The National Society of Film Critics is made up of the leading film critics in the United States whose purpose is to promote the mutual interests of film criticism and filmmaking.

Selected for preservation by the National Film Registry, Tol’able David is a heart-wrenching drama from director Henry King. This screening will be accompanied by a live musical score on the famous Music Box organ by Dennis Scott, Music Box House Organist.
